Embassy of Canada

Tunis - Tunisia - 2010

Projects do not get any more international than this one. The Canadian Embassy in Tunis trusts in Belgian quality by Reynaers Aluminium to support its citizens at all times. Experience how our ConceptWall 60 curtain wall solutions combine beautifully with the building’s stark white façade in the North African sun. And if said sun gets too hot to handle, BriseSoleil 100 solar shading gives you the perfect opportunity to cool off in full comfort.

The Embassy of Canada is a little piece of home to all Canadians living, working, or studying in Tunisia. And just like any other home, it wants to welcome its visitors in complete serenity. Although its outside walls do seem quite intimidating, the Embassy building itself invites you in with its open and transparent design. This contemporary government facility mixes smooth white façade walls with grand glass surfaces that give you stunning reflections depending on the time of day. The recurrent theme: bright, white, and light.

Here comes the sun

Reynaers Aluminium systems provide a fresh and welcoming feeling in every corner of the government office. First, fabricator Inerzia clad the façade with ConceptWall 60 curtain wall solutions. As you gaze beyond the red maple leaf flag waving in the wind, wide and heavy glass panes in reinforced profiles catch your attention in an instant. Our Development Team specifically designed these insulating curtain walls to withstand heavy wind loads and to keep indoor temperatures at a comfortable level. And with the rough Mediterranean Sea within walking distance of the Embassy, this sturdy system forms the perfect solution.

Reynaers Aluminium curtain wall solutions protect against heavy wind loads and create comfortable room temperatures.

Next to the howling wind, the most important challenge to beat is the North African heat. Sunny Tunisia has always been a popular holiday destination, but even for the toughest Canadian the warm weather can become too much to handle. That is why the architect added our BriseSoleil 100 solar shading to the building’s design. Placed horizontally on the façade of the Embassy’s stairwell, this aluminium system protects perfectly against solar heat and possibly disturbing glare from the large window panes. Enjoy the view from both the inside and the outside thanks to this clever solution by Reynaers Aluminium.
